Importance of Pre-Kindergarten Education? – Irving Pre-K programs

Many Irving Pre-K programs prepare children for kindergarten by nurturing their instincts and allow them to express their natural curiosity.

For the longest time, there have been debates surrounding the importance of Pre-K in developing a child’s mind and critical thinking skills.

The first five years of a child’s life are crucial in developing logical, language, and communication skills. While it may seem like a child isn’t doing much at that age, they are actually learning critical skills that will aid them for the rest of their lives.

It is normal for parents to have concerns related to the purpose of Pre-Kindergarten. Irving Pre-K programs are working to dissociate the myths attached to a Pre-K education with what is the truth.

How is a Pre-K education important?

Research proves that children who are educated early on in pre-kindergarten are less likely to present with learning difficulties later on in life. This is because early childhood is when most of the brain’s connections are being formed. By supplementing the brain’s development at that time, Pre-K teachers prepare children to lead more successful and intellectually developed lives.

The Benefits of Early Childhood Education

Many Irving Pre-K programs prepare children for kindergarten and beyond by nurturing their instincts and allowing them to express their natural curiosity.

Some of the proven benefits of Pre-Kindergarten on the lives of children are:

Better interaction with peers in the future

A classroom full of children who can speak and count and express themselves will be hard for a child without a Pre-K education to survive. This leads to children retreating into their shells. It will further lead to trouble expressing themselves as adults and a lack of confidence that translates into difficult situations in their daily lives.

A better grasp of the Kindergarten syllabus

Kindergarten teachers expect their students to know the basics: the alphabet, counting till ten, basic colors and shapes, etc. If a child does not know these things, they will have trouble grasping the course and fall behind their peers.

Increased cognitive abilities

Early childhood is a period of great learning for children. Their brains can adapt to any learning situation and absorb any habits that are being impressed upon them. This allows parents and teachers to nurture their child’s natural comprehension so that it is easier for them to succeed in their studies as they grow older.

Better speech and language skills

Pre-K is the time in which the brain is at its most impressionable. Most of the child’s speech patterns and language abilities have already been set by five. This means that any development that could occur needs to do so before that. Singing rhymes, communicating while playing, and conveying their needs in the playground is how children develop their intellectual and social skills in Pre-K.

Getting children used to the idea of going to school

When directly admitted to kindergarten, many children are overwhelmed with the amount of time spent away from home and struggle to adjust to a learning environment. This can lead to anger issues, increased stress, and feelings of frustration in young children.

Helping children integrate themselves with their peers

One of the greatest struggles of the modern age is the trouble that some children have in fitting in. Most children from the same neighborhoods attend the same pre-K, kindergarten, primary, secondary and high schools. This allows them to form social orders or groups early on, leading children who have not attended pre-K to miss out and be separated from their peers.

Lesser criminal rate, teenage pregnancies, greater success

One of the longest researches ever conducted about Pre-K’s effects has shown that children who attended pre-K had more successful lives than children who did not.

Those who attended pre-Kindergarten had a lower rate of teenage pregnancies, criminal activities, and high school dropouts. This was because they adjusted the education system early on, which allowed them to grow into confident, prosperous adults.

Hence, a strong case can be made in favour of pre-Kindergarten education for all children based on reports by multiple researchers that greatly affect the future of those children.
