Options For Paying A DWI Bail Bond

Posting bail yourself may save you about 10% of the total cost, but you risk losing the entire amount if the defendant doesn’t attend court. Therefore, it is important to weigh your options carefully and decide what is best for your situation. Before making a decision about which bondsman to use, consider the terms of the bond. The conditions may include check-ins, travel restrictions, and drug/alcohol testing.

Refundability Of A DWI Bail Bond

However, the money will be applied to court costs and fees if the defendant is found guilty. In this case, a refund may not be possible. To ensure that your money is fully refunded, you should make sure to keep track of your court dates and mark the date that the case is closed.

The money is not refundable if you have posted bail with a bond agency. The company you hired to secure your bail will not refund it unless the defendant shows up to all hearings.
