How to get a job in Europe?

Table of Contents

Polish citizenship as a legal institution opens access to Europe and its job market. As a holder of Polish citizenship, you not only get a chance to travel or study freely with no visa restrictions but also to find a job in Europe. However, great employment opportunities and high wages have made the concept of working in European countries very popular also from the point of view of non-EU citizens. We have observed that foreigners have become increasingly willing to consider moving to Europe to start a new life. How to get a job in Europe? Can a foreigner apply for a job despite not being a European citizen? You will find more below.

Europe is famous for its balanced approach when it comes to work and leisure. As a result, there are plenty of job opportunities in European countries that an individual may apply for regardless of age, gender or background. Employers are very understanding, and what’s more, Europe is a pleasant environment to work in. You do not have to worry about working hours or breaking employee laws. Seems fantastic, doesn’t it? The case we just mentioned only applies to European citizens. The European market is open to them, making the issue of looking for a job as smooth as possible.

First of all, to get a job in Europe, an individual must prove he is a European Union citizen. It is crucial to have a Polish passport (or any other EU country) or hold dual citizenship. What about foreigners? Do they have to meet several conditions to work in Europe? How do they find a job in Europe, and what do they need to know? When it comes to non-EU citizens the whole process is way more complicated. In such cases, an individual must require a work visa and the needed documentation that allows him to legally apply for a job in Europe. It is advisable to consult a case with an employee of the Embassy to find more information about work visa regulations.

Acquiring a work visa is essential in that case! A foreigner may also apply for a temporary residence and work permit. There is no other possibility for a non-EU citizen to get a job in Europe without fulfilling this step. Once the outcome is positive, you can start searching for a job that matches your qualifications and education. Check our blog and find help from Polish Citizenship Experts!

The benefits of working in Europe – what should you know about it?

As we mentioned above, an individual who does not hold Polish citizenship or any other EU country may apply for a job based on the work visa he obtained. The whole process is not that easy because companies have to prove they cannot find anyone who meets the conditions for the job within Europe. When it comes to non-EU citizens who obtained temporary residence and work permission they can also legally look for a job in Poland or other European countries. It is worth mentioning that applying for work visas and other permits consumes time.

We decided to mention it on purpose! At the moment a foreigner meets the above-mentioned requirements he is on the right path to search for a job. The Internet is full of job offers you may probably find attractive. Wages in Europe usually depend on the country chosen and the specifics of the work. The signed contract with the employer also gives many benefits, such as the ability to take a vacation. You gain more advantages than you could ever think of! As a future employee in Europe, you also get a chance to live in your dream destination, meet a new culture and start living a new life.

You will probably learn another language too! Why is this aspect of working in Europe so unique? For example, if you obtain the required permission to start work in Poland, you also become a part of the Polish nation. After a few years of being a resident of a different origin, you get a chance to apply for Polish citizenship by naturalization (in Polish: “uznanie za obywatela”). You will need to pass the Polish language exam, prove your source of income and employment as well. Another option which may be open to you is the Grant of Polish citizenship (in Polish “nadanie obywatelstwa polskiego”) applies to an individual who can prove their strong ties to Poland. It would be great if you speak the language, get involved in the local community and you may submit an official motion at the President’s of the Republic of Poland office and wait for positive consent. The President acts as a Head of State which means he is the one to grant a foreigner citizenship. At this point, you do not only become a citizen of Poland but also a European one!
